George Ludwig has been kicking around the San Francisco Bay Area for 15 years now. As an engineer/producer, he recorded and mixed “Serpentine Gallery” (1995), the debut album of Switchblade Symphony on Cleopatra Records. He fronted his own brit-invasion power pop group, The Inflatable Scream, in the late 90′s, gigging regularly in the Bay Area. He engineered and mixed their 6 song EP titled “Crater”, released in 1997. Around 2002 he hooked up with Bay Area surf stalwarts Drifting Sand, and was known as “Riptide” while bringing the message of Surf. He also engineered and mixed half of their 2003 eponymously titled release, “Drifting Sand”, and co-penned the rave-up “Mavericks”, which garnered international airplay on several surf specialty radio programs.
His latest project is a very personal statement on the past, present and future. Using guitars and realtime looping software, he weaves deep tapestries of sound that simultaneously relax and energize the innermost parts of the subconscious. He is currently performing select pieces from his new album “Rise Time”, as well as new work based on sounds conceived on the Moog Guitar.
